Lisa Steadman, a.k.a. TheRelationship Journalist™ is an author and expert dedicated to helping individuals create lives they love so they’re free to attract the loves of their lives. A multiple breakup survivor, Steadman stumbled and fell many times along her journey to happily ever after. Along the way, she learned some valuable lessons, realized the importance of wakin’ up, breakin’ up, and movin’ on, and emerged from her Big Breakup stronger than ever – and determined to help others.
 
What once started as a passionate pursuit quickly became a career. Back in the day, Steadman was a professional writer and branding expert for mega companies like Mattel, Disney, and MGM. After going through her Big Breakup, Steadman left Corporate America to pursue relationship writing and help singles celebrate their lives. In 2004, she launched her website www.BreakupChronicles.com, which celebrates stories of how breaking up with the wrong person is always the right thing to do. In 2006, Steadman began coaching individuals on how to break up with their limiting relationship beliefs and other bad love habits to welcome healthy, happy, whole love into their lives.

Steadman’s book, It’s a Breakup, Not a Breakdown, published by Polka Dot Press, an Adams Media imprint (May 8, 2007release), is a result of Steadman’s in-depth study and understanding of breakups, dating, and relationships.  It’s a Breakup Not a Breakdown gently caters to those who’ve suffered The Big One (and all the little ones along the way).  A survival guide, Steadman’s book assures readers that a breakup is about celebrating who you are and figuring out how to pick yourself up after the fall and move on.

Steadman had an unconventional childhood, living in Australia, Saudi Arabia, Montana, and New Jersey by the time she graduated high school. Her early love of storytelling led her to the University of Southern California where she earned a BFA in screenwriting. She spent the next ten years writing for a variety of industries before focusing her efforts on relationship writing. Currently, she is the Featured Dating Coach/Singles Contributor to PassionateForLife.com; an expert for LifetimeTV.com; a contributing writer to online dating site ItsJustCoffee.com; and her work has appeared on MSN.com Lifestyle, iVillage.com, and TangoMag.com, among others. She has been seen/heard espousing the positive side of breaking up on Playboy Radio, Fox Across America, The Tyra Banks Show, and the KTLA Morning News.

Steadman resides in Los Angeles with Mr. XY, whom she met after successfully surviving her Big Breakup and celebrating her single and ready to mingle self using the tips and techniques she shares in her book.
