New Year’s Resolution or 2012 Revolution?
Submitted by Lisa Steadman on December 30, 2011 - 6:37 am

With 2012 literally around the corner, are you scrambling to come up with lofty new years resolutions?
Or are you prepping for a revolution?
The truth is, most people make grand resolutions on New Years Eve and within 10 days, those goals, dreams, and ideas have fallen by the wayside in favor of old patterns, habits, and comfort.
While there’s nothing wrong with making resolutions to eat better, exercise more, make more money, catapult your business, or find lasting love in 2012, if you REALLY want to experience radical change in any area of your life, resolutions may not be enough.
It may be time for a REVOLUTION.
More precisely, it may be time for you to create revolutionary action in 2012.
Here’s how:
Start by writing down those resolutions. Come up with at least 3-5.
They may include:
1. Write and publish my book
2. Become a household name in all the right households
3. Hit 6 figures in my business
4. Meet and create lasting love with my perfect partner
5. Go to France for a month
Be sure to include the biggest goals you have for yourself, ones that will make you do the Woohoo wiggle when you attain them.
Next, write down 3 action steps you can take to make each of those resolutions real in 2012.
For example, if your resolution is to write and publish your book, one action step will be to carve out time on your calendar – even if it’s just 45-90 minutes a few days a week – to write. (This is how I’ve written 5 books on tight deadlines!)
Or, if your resolution is to find lasting love, one action step may be to work with a stylist to rock what you’ve got and feel good about your body and style every day. (Trust me, this attracts men like candy to a baby!)
Next, ask yourself who how you might sabotage your progress when the going gets tough. For example, if your goal is to hit 6 figures in your business and you decide that the best approach is to generate $10,000 a month in revenue and by March you’ve only bought in $6,000 a month, how will you talk yourself out of giving up and instead stay in action towards your goals?
And finally, ask yourself who do you need to become to create revolutionary action in your life?
Do you need to be stronger, more disciplined, more balanced, get more rest, hire a coach, exercise daily, track your money better, etc?
How you show up for yourself on a daily basis will determine whether your resolutions go out the window on January 10th or if you stay committed and take revolutionary action all year long.
Even if you take just 1 action today towards your 2012 revolution, why not start by writing down what you REALLY want to create for yourself in the coming year? Give yourself permission to create the life and business you desire and deserve, not just some carbon copy of what someone else has or does that looks good?
I invite you to make 2012 revolutionary, on whatever level you’re ready to play at. I plan on making it my best year yet. And I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
Here’s to YOUR revolutionary success!
4 Success Secrets of Powerhouse Women
Submitted by Lisa Steadman on December 13, 2011 - 11:18 am

Can you FEEL it? There’s something electric in the air right now. It’s powerful, profound, and purposeful.
It’s the energy of possibility as we enter the home stretch of 2011 and look towards 2012. Whether you accomplished all of your goals and dreams this year or not, give yourself some time this month to slow it down, rejoice, renew, and reflect.
There are lessons to be learned from 2011, both from our greatest successes and in our disappointing failures.
We can only glean those lessons when we make the time for reflection. Be sure to give yourself that gift of time this month. Trust me, it will forever change your trajectory of success in 2012.
This past weekend, I attended an incredible event called HerVision2012, put on by my brilliant friends Christina Dunbar of The Power Goddess and Tanya Paluso of Tribal Truth.
I was invited to speak on the Powerhouse Panel with 3 other phenomenal women.
But I was also there to RECEIVE.
That’s been one of my goals for 2011. To give myself permission to receive with the same generosity that I give to others.
And boy did I receive! Like Woohoo Weekend 2011, HerVision2012 had 2 powerful components – 1 that focused on our inner game, and 1 that celebrated our outer game.
For the majority of the day, we worked on that inner game. We were treated to sound healings, chanted, visualized, celebrated, and reflected. It was amazing!
In the afternoon, myself and my fellow Powerhouse Panelists shared success secrets for cultivating that outer game. I was blown away by the brilliance of my fellow panelists. As I reflect on the weekend, I recognized 4 valuable lessons that came out of the experience. In hopes of helping YOU become a true powerhouse in 2012, here they are…

1. Be Willing To Be Seen
Visibility. I’ve been talking about it a lot this year. And I’ll continue championing the power of visibility in the year to come. It’s an integral part of the work I do with my clients as I help them hit their brand bullseye, become buzz worthy, and broadcast BIGGER. While you may crave success, recognition, and relevance, there may be some part of you that fears stepping out of the shadows and into your spotlight.
Maybe it’s fear of being judged. Fear of failure. Fear of hurting someone you love by becoming more successful. Or fear of making a fool of yourself. I get it. I’ve been there. AND I stepped into my spotlight anyway. My mission at Woohoo, Inc. is to give every individual I encounter permission to be themselves without apology and to share their innate brilliance with the world more generously. And that starts with being willing to be seen, heard, celebrated, and even criticized. Ultimately, you are simply the best messenger the universe could find to deliver your message. So why not start broadcasting BIGGER?

Have More Fun
Being an entrepreneur is amazing. It’s also extraordinarily challenging, excruciatingly painful at times, and not for the faint of heart. Yes, it’s hard. But it’s also FUN. As my assistant MK left the office yesterday for the final time in 2011 (The Hubs and I leave for Paris for a month tomorrow morning), I told her this: “Rest up. Build your stamina. 2012 is going to be rock star. AND…we’re bringing back the fun!” Mind you, MK already thinks her job is fun. But truth be told, in hindsight, I recognize that I’ve sacrificed daily fun in the name of business. Not anymore. In 2012, I am committed to bringing back the fun to my daily life. It makes me a better wife, a better boss, a better coach, a better business owner, and a better human being. How can YOU have more fun in 2012?

Fail Faster
Having worked with and met hundreds of business owners in the last few years, I can tell you that the #1 thing that keeps people playing and staying small is fear. Specifically, fear of failure. The truth is, ALL successful business owners fail, often on a daily basis. But the key is to fail FASTER. If you knew you didn’t have to be perfect, what would you attempt? If you knew that with great risk comes great reward, what would you try? If you knew that failure was inevitable and welcomed it with open arms, how quickly could you fail and move on? Donald Trump, Oprah, Bill Clinton, Beyonce, Steve Jobs, and Ellen Degeneres have all failed miserably. And they learned the art of failing faster and moving on. You can, too.
Get A Mentor
How do you get record results in record time? You don’t try to do it all yourself, figure it out on your own, or waste precious time trying to learn skills that you don’t excel at. You get yourself a mentor and a support system and you take daily action in the direction of your goals, vision, and dreams. People may call you crazy. They may judge you, question you, criticize you. But if you’re REALLY ready to rock it out of the park in 2012, you’ll enlist the help of a mentor who can show you the most direct route to success. I did it. And some of my most successful friends and peers have done it. You can do it, too.
So there you have it. 4 simple steps you can take in 2012 to become a powerhouse of success. Which ones will you implement, starting this week?
